Anne Frank tree

Today wind and rain in Amsterdam have toppled a monumental chestnut tree that comforted Anne Frank as she viewed it from her attic hiding place during World War II.
She referred to it several times: "From my favorite spot on the floor I look up at the blue sky and the bare chestnut tree, on whose branches little raindrops shine, appearing like silver, and at the seagulls and other birds as they glide on the wind."
Now you can leave a leaf in the online tree: http://www.annefranktree.org/
